2011 Chefs Collaborative Membership Drive
Here is a sample email you can send to your friends and colleagues asking them to join Chefs Collaborative. Feel free to adapt this to your own personal style.
I want to invite you to become a member of an organization that I am very passionate about: Chefs Collaborative. This organization helps chefs and food professionals make a real impact on the American food landscape.
I know you share my love of ingredients that are seasonal, delicious, and responsibly sourced. I also know that it’s not always easy to put it all together when procuring food for our restaurants and foodservice kitchens.
As culinary professionals, we have a great opportunity to impact what food is available in our communities through our own purchasing decisions as well as our ability to influence consumers.
Work and life can be hectic but it’s important for like-minded people to join together and support worthwhile initiatives. This year, Chefs Collaborative is planning to ramp up its educational and informational resources (about topics like sourcing and cooking with heritage livestock, distribution, responsible seafood purchasing, and food costs), expand the networking opportunities (like sustainable meat roundtable discussions), and produce a hands-on Summit in New Orleans with peer-to-peer exchanges and learning.
In order to expand the impact of this organization, Chefs Collaborative is cooking up a new member drive. We need to increase the number of food professionals who are actively engaged in order to make sustainability second nature in restaurant kitchens everywhere.
More and more chefs are sourcing responsibly for their restaurant kitchens – thanks in great part to Chefs Collaborative.
I encourage you to become a member while you’re thinking about it. It’s easy to join online. And while you’re at it, check the organization out on Facebook or Twitter to get a sense of one way you can engage with this incredible network.
