Like all Chefs Collaborative members, I think about food constantly. But this year it seems more important than ever to think about how we source, prepare and serve food that is communal and nourishing, delicious and sustainable. We need only look outside to know that climate change is real and affecting food systems everywhere.

During the busy end of year festivities, while we’re working our hardest to please others, we need to remember to take the time to take care of ourselves and the things that we value.

I’ve been working for almost 15 years trying to make the world a better place through food and drink. Seems like a huge goal, but isn’t that what all of us at Chefs Collaborative are trying to achieve? There are a lot of good food organizations out there, but Chefs Collaborative is the one I was drawn to many years ago (Boston 2010!) and the one I feel the greatest connection with when it comes to building a better food system.

The people that I’ve met from around the world through Chefs Collaborative have been inspiring and helpful in reaching my goals, and I’m thankful that the people in our local group here in Rhode Island are some of the best in the world. Thank you Chefs Collaborative, for giving me the chance to add my voice to this mix as we jump into next year and continue making the world a better place through food and drink.
