On February 10th, 2019, Newport Aquarium will host a Celebration of Seafood Dinner, which will be the Cincinnati region’s third annual example of what can happen when a local-food network collaborates: farm teams grow and raise flavorful crops; chefs think about savory dishes made with locally grown and raised food to pair with locally-brewed beer and world-class wine; and a local magazine’s team identifies ways to tell the story. In this case, there will be a focus on sustainable fish from the sea, local aquaculture, and seafood vegetables.

This dinner is just one of many examples of how Ohio River Valley Local Group of Chefs Collaborative (#orvcc) works to Change Menus, Change Lives. Over the next several months the team will work to create an event that addresses three essential questions eaters need to ask when consuming seafood:

1. Where was it caught?

2. How was it caught?

3. Who harvested it?

To create this epic feast, the team is partnering with the Newport and Monterey Bay Aquariums, with expert advice from Seafood Watch to bring to life how these questions can be answered here in the Ohio Valley, a place far from the coasts. Chefs and sommeliers from all across the country will create the feast.

Half of your ticket price will benefit Chefs Collaborative, the Wave FoundationEdible Ohio Valley Foundation and La Soupe Cincinnati.
