About Joan Dye Gussow: Writer, gardener, teacher and food warrior! Professor emeritus and former head of the nutrition education department at Columbia, Joan has been a pioneering nutrition ecology teacher and researcher. In her book, This Organic Life: Confessions of a Suburban Homesteader, she wrote about eating well year-round from an average lot in the suburbs of Piermont, N.Y. Joan is a past, longtime member of the Chefs Collaborative board, has chaired the board of Just Food, and has served in a number of capacities for various public, private, and governmental organizations.
Proceeds will benefit the work of Chefs Collaborative to celebrate local foods and foster a more sustainable food supply.
